This Imagist poem of Carl Sandberg should be viewed in the spirit of that movement. At the outset, it may not look interesting. The imagist movement avows for delineating a clear visual image through the poem without excessive usage of language (using exact word, to be precise) or decorations and embellishments of any kind to impress upon the reader. Same time, the exactitude of words should convey to the reader what the poet intends.This movement is a rebellion against the flowery language of the Victorian era.
