నడుస్తున్న కాలంతో పాటు,
వణుకుతున్న స్థంబం నుండి,
పరిగెడుతున్న ఆ రాత్రి వేళ క్షణమాత్రం
ఒక ఘంటల సవ్వడి గాలిలోకి ఎగసింది.
సుడిగాలిలోచిక్కుకున్న గూడొదిలినపక్షుల్లా
అకస్మాత్తుగా… ఓహ్, శ్రద్ధగా వినండి.
ఘంటికా నౌకా సమూహం తెరచాపలెత్తి
చీకటి సముద్రం మీద ప్రయాణం చేస్తోంది.
ఉన్నట్టుండి చల్లని గాలి వీస్తుంది,
గట్టిగా, ఒంటరిగా.
‘గంటల ‘ పద్యాలు రెక్కతొడిగి
మేఘాలతో పాటు ప్రయాణిస్తుంది.

A flock of bells take flight,

Like birds from the cote to the gales,
Abrupt—oh, hark!—
A fleet of bells set sails,
And go to the dark.
Sudden the cold airs swing:
Alone, aloud,
A verse of bells takes wing
And flies with the cloud.
