నే నిప్పటివరకు చదివినదాని బట్టీ

చూసినవీ, కథలు కథలుగా విన్నదాన్ని బట్టీ

నిజమైన ప్రేమికుల జీవితాలెప్పుడూ సజావుగా సాగలేదు.

అయితే అవి అంతరాలున్న వర్గాలకు చెందడమో

వయసులబట్టి చూస్తే పొందిక లేకపోవడమో,

లేకపోతే హితుల ఎంపికమీద ఆధారపడడమో;

ఒక వేళ ఎంపికలో సానుభూతి ఉండి ఉంటే, అవి

యుద్ధమో, మరణమో, లేక రోగం వల్లనో ప్రేరితమై

పరిగెత్తే నీడలా, కరిగిపోయే కలలా, ధ్వనిలా

 …..   క్షణమాత్రం ప్రభావం చూపుతాయి.

విధివశాత్తో, స్వయంకృతంవల్లనో, కోపం వచ్చినపుడు

మనిషి తనను తాను నిగ్రహించుకుని ఇక చాలు అనుకునే లోపునే

చీకటి ఒక్కసారిగా విరుచుకుపడి కబళిస్తుంది.

ఎంతటి ఉదాత్త వ్యక్తిత్వాలైనా లిప్తలో తప్పటడుగువేస్తాయి.

The Course of True Love

For aught that ever I could read,      

Could ever hear by tale or history,  

The course of true love never did run smooth:    

But, either it was different in blood,

Or else misgraffèd in respect of years,       

Or else it stood upon the choice of friends;

War, death, or sickness did lay siege to it, 

Making it momentary as a sound,    

Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;    

Brief as the lightning in the collied night,  

That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,        

And ere a man hath power to say,—Behold!      

The jaws of darkness do devour it up:      

So quick bright things come to confusion.
